As always, there are plenty of viable WR options this week, but some big names are facing tough matchups. Two youngsters made their cases for big moves up, though. T.J. Hockenson set the NFL record for receiving yards in a debut by a TE (131 yards on six catches). He also caught his first NFL touchdown. And for Baltimore, Mark Andrews lived up to the preseason hype with eight catches for 108 yards and a TD, looking like the TE he was at Oklahoma when he was regarded as best in the country....
We did hit the nail on the head last week when we slid Delanie Walker up a few spots in our PPR rankings against the Browns. In an unexpected blowout, Walker caught all but one of his six targets for 55 yards and two scores. The Browns were one of the worst defenses against TEs last year, too, which makes Ryan Griffin worth pointing out this week. As the Jets’ fill-in for Chris Herndon, he gets to face off with Cleveland in Week 2....
Remember, even superstars bust from time-to-time, but you won’t see stars on this list unless we legitimately advise benching them. We stick to players on the start-or-sit bubble – not “must-starts” and not guys most people aren’t even consider starting. We know you can’t always bench players on this list (especially when injuries and byes pile up). There are times you don’t have the depth to consider benching these players without taking on even more risk....
We’re more concerned about other tight ends in this week’s rankings, namely injured players Jason Witten and Jordan Cameron. Undoubtedly some fantasy owners are still reeling from the Delanie Walker and Greg Olsen injuries (though Olsen thinks he can come back sooner than expected), and it will likely take a couple more games for more reliable options (or at least what passes as “reliable” at this position) to emerge. Of course, the bye weeks are fast approaching – and Rob Gronkowski, Jordan Reed and Tyler Eifert are due to get hurt any day now – so it’s going to be every owner for his or herself soon....

Ben Roethlisberger (vs. Browns), Kirk Cousins (vs. Falcons), Matthew Stafford (@ Jaguars), Gardner Minshew (vs. Lions), Andy Dalton (vs. Cardinals), Ryan Fitzpatrick (vs. Jets), Daniel Jones (vs. Washington), and Ryan Tannehill (vs. Texans) are usually backups, but all are in good spots this week. Most are still just on the start/sit bubble because so many top guys have favorable matchups, too, but if you need to drop down to any of these players, you can feel comfortable using them....
This is the part of the program where we say if Carolina’s Joey Slye is still unowned in your league, pick him up. Dude is a stud. Graham Gano isn’t gonna have his job whenever he’s healthy enough to return. In a deeper league, Austin Seibert could be worth a pickup if your kicker stinks because Seibert has played well in his rookie season for Cleveland. Thankfully, we have a number of stacking options for both tournaments and cash games this week. Our tendency to pair high-powered QBs and pass-catchers has continued to pay off in cash games, with both Murray-Hopkins and Mahomes-Kelce working in Week 5. Stacking Kenyan Drake with the Cardinals D/ST also was solid for tournaments last week, so we have got another unconventional RB-D/ST stack for you this week. The timeshare theme continues into our wide receiver picks, where all of the Chiefs’ wideouts not named Tyreek Hill have us worried. Denver has a great pass defense, and those other guys split up the time and targets too much to accurately predict how they’ll perform on Thursday Night Football. Eric Ebron’s another guy splitting time, with Jack Doyle in Indianapolis, and that makes him a TE bust candidate....
The cases in which a fantasy owner wouldn’t play two QBs in a superflex league are few and far between. Maybe you had Dak Prescott and somebody else scooped up Andy Dalton, so now your other superflex option is Kyle Allen. In that case, starting a higher-ranked RB or WR could make sense, but Allen’s floor still makes him more appealing than some of the other options further down the rankings, like Adrian Peterson and Travis Fulgham....
Week 7 is full of difficult matchups with some powerhouse offenses colliding and some bottom-dwellers squaring off. Get the scoop on some quality bargains in a week that’s full of question marks. We’re going with a semi-irregular RB-TE stack this week, but against the Bucs defense, anything goes, right? We’re also going with a more traditional QB-WR stack against the Saints that figures to be popular (or as popular as something involving Joe Flacco can be). Our one-offs all have good matchups, of course, but after watching Cole Beasley make last week’s perfect lineup against the Jags, maybe we should go full contrarian....
The NFL has thrown a weird, two-team bye week in the midst of all the larger bye weeks, so this is a bulkier FLEX rankings than its been the last couple weeks. Injuries could change everything, of course, but ideally you feel better about the bottom half of your lineup this week than you have the last couple. Generally speaking, the rules for identifying quality flex plays are simple. If you have a high-volume running back or receiver, they should be plugged into your lineup no matter what. Additionally, it’s not usually a good idea to play two tight ends – unless you have extreme depth at the position or the players you have at the position have excellent matchups. Still, the position is pushed down a bit more than normal in these FLEX rankings solely because few fantasy owners choose to take the two-TE path....
Marshawn Lynch (groin) and Leonard Fournette (hamstring) are also out, creating opportunities for Doug Martin and, indirectly, Nick Chubb, respectively. Carlos Hyde should see his first action in Jacksonville this week, though it’s unclear how carries will be divvied up among him and T.J. Yeldon. Bilal Powell (neck), Royce Freeman (ankle), and Peyton Barber (ankle) are also banged up (Update: Powell and Freeman are officially out), giving more life to their committee-mates, while Matt Breida and Raheem Mostert seem locked in a legitimate battle in San Francisco....
