Julius Thomas, Broncos vs. BUF. Thomas is tentatively expected to return this week. Whenever he’s finally active, start him. FOUR STAR Martellus Bennett, Bears vs. DAL. The Cowboys are allowing the fourth-most fantasy points to TEs, so fire up Bennett as your TE1....

STUDS Colts QB Andrew Luck. Luck racked up a ton of garbage-time points Sunday with his team trailing the Bengals. He completed 29 of 46 passes for 326 yards and four touchdowns and also led the team with 32 rushing yards. That put him over 40 standard fantasy points and helped him edge out Peyton Manning and Drew Brees, who also had four TDs apiece. We like Luck’s upside much more with Da’Rick Rogers and LaVon Brazill in the mix instead of Darrius Heyward-Bey....

James Monroe (0-1) at Weir (2-0): Weir is coming off back-to-back wins against Oak Glen 49-14 in week 1 and Anacostia(D.C.) 71-20 in week 2. James Monroe surprisingly dropped their first game in a shutout by Greenbrier East 14-0 before entering their bye week in week 2. Brooke (0-1) at University (1-1): University took one on the chin in a 42-35 loss to John Marshall in week 1 but rallied back to beat Parkersburg South 24-7 in week 2....

For the first time this year, the top five has seen a shakeup: No. 1 Alabama, No. 2 Clemson remain in their respective positions, but Georgia and Ohio State switched while Penn State jumped Oklahoma for the No. 5 spot. It’s not too early for Playoff talk. There are a couple of pieces of good news about this week’s RB rankings. First and foremost, Aaron Jones and the Detroit trio (Adrian Peterson, D’Andre Swift, Kerryon Johnson) will be back in action and will provide some depth to the rankings. Second, the Patriots’ surprise bye week came in Week 5, so they will be adding depth to the rankings with James White, Damien Harris, and Rex Burkhead. Phillip Lindsay and Leonard Fournette also figure to return after multi-week layoffs....

The good news is that Aaron Jones and the Lions’ trio of Adrian Peterson, D’Andre Swift, and Kerryon Johnson will be returning to action. Also, a couple of committee backfields in New England (Damien Harris, James White, and Rex Burkhead) and Denver (Melvin Gordon and Phillip Lindsay) will all be back, as well. (Update: Gordon will miss Week 6.) That helps out these rankings that are otherwise decimated by byes and injuries....

Labor Day weekend typically marks the end of summer and our Davidson Day football team squeezed in another game in our white uniforms (our third consecutive road game to start the season). This time, it was against crosstown-rival Providence Day. Providence Day is a tremendous school with a proud tradition on and off the field. RB Kenyan Drake, who scored six touchdowns in the Crimson Tide’s first four games, is done for the season after breaking his leg in last week’s loss at Ole Miss.
