On the surface, this change might seem so small as to be insignificant – just a few missing characters and an extra ‘m’ in your browser’s address bar. But, to us, the move means so much more. Those of you who have been following Tech Advisor throughout its 25-year legacy will already know that back in summer 2017 we changed our name from PC Advisor to Tech Advisor. PC Advisor had a well-established reputation, for its monthly print magazine and several million-strong forum community (RIP), so it was regarded as something of a daring move at the time....

Wellington Phoenix are currently rooted to the bottom of the A-League standings and have endured a dismal season so far. The home side edged Melbourne City to an FFA Cup victory last week and will be confident ahead of this game. Western United, on the other hand, are in third place in the league table at the moment and have been impressive this season. The away side suffered a 3-1 defeat against Melbourne Victory last week and will need to bounce back in this fixture....

Our official plays – all second-level Other Plays – went 2-1. UTSA (+9.5) was blown out 45-7 by Western Kentucky, a team we’ve been fading unsuccessfully the past few weeks. UCLA (-3.5) won convincingly over crosstown rival USC, 38-20. UNLV (+10.5), a weekly staple in our picks, finally covered, but lost in heartbreaking fashion. After taking a 35-31 lead with only 15 seconds left, two unsportsmanlike conduct penalties and an apparent error by the clock operator let Hawaii score a game-winning touchdown on the game’s final play....

5-Star Players Drew Brees, QB, Saints. Brees had a rough go of it against Seattle on Monday night, but look for him to bounce back with a big performance at home, even in this tough matchup. Jimmy Graham, TE, Saints. The Panthers boast a tough defense, but it’s awfully tough to hold Graham back for a full 60 minutes. He remains a TE1 lock. Garrett Hartley, K, Saints. Even if the Saints don’t convert a “normal” number of touchdowns, they should still be able to move the ball throughout the game, putting Hartley in a position to convert field-goal attempts....

The Bears (vs. Browns), Redskins (vs. Broncos), and Cardinals (vs. Giants) are your best bets when it comes to waiver wire sleepers. When it comes to busts, the Seahawks (@ Cowboys), Saints (vs. Falcons), and possibly the Vikings (@ Packers) if Aaron Rodgers plays are your biggest worries. (UPDATE: Rodgers is out.) Otherwise, pretty much all of the highly owned/high-scoring D/STs are in play this week. Fantasy’s No. 1 D/ST, Jacksonville, has a quietly difficult matchup against the new-look 49ers, but even with Jimmy Garoppolo turning San Francisco into a real NFL offense, the Jags can still get pressure, rack up sacks, possibly force a few turnovers and keep the score low....

For leagues playing in Week 17, it’s always a good rule of thumb to trust solid defenses in good matchups that have something to play for. That’s why the Colts, who are fighting for a playoff spot, garner the top spot in our rankings this week. They’re taking on the Jaguars need to win to have a shot at the postseason. The same can be said of the Ravens (@ Bengals), Saints (@ Panthers), Steelers (@ Browns), and the Washington Football Team (@ Eagles)....

For the most part, Travis Kelce and Zach Ertz are the only high-volume, top-tier options for Week 17. Behind them, every option is matchup-based or TD-dependent. That’s just the nature of the position, but still, there’s usually a consistent top five to rely on. One of our favorite sleepers so far this season, Laviska Shenault, continued to prove himself worthy of PPR flex consideration with his Thursday Night Football performance. If he’s going to catch between three and five passes every game while also running up to five times, that’s a solid enough workload. A Week 4 matchup with the Bengals is appealing for sure, and Shenault is the only Jaguars’ WR worth playing outside of DJ Chark (if he returns)....

Maybe this week just seems worse than it is because the Vikings – easily fantasy’s top defense – are on bye, but filling out a top 12 was rough. This led to another thought: Could it be that offenses are better this year? It’s probably a combination of all of the above. This week, several of the most fantasy-friendly teams to D/STs (Dolphins, Titans, Panthers, etc.) play poor fantasy defenses (Steelers, Browns, Saints)....

QUARTERBACKS 1 p.m.: Jake Locker, Titans (right hand) INACTIVE at Redskins. Charlie Whitehurst will start again, so fire up the Redskins D/ST. MORE WEEK 7 RANKINGS: QB | RB | WR | TE | DEF | K RUNNING BACKS 1 p.m.: Mark Ingram, Saints (hand) ACTIVE at Lions. The Lions are a tough defense, and we don’t know how much the Saints will use Ingram in his first week back, but if you’re desperate for a flex, there are far worse options than Ingram....

Sporting News reached the midseason point, and we have another round of changes after a wild weekend in which four Top 10 teams were upset. TCU, one of eight remaining unbeaten teams in the FBS, crashed the four-team field. Alabama, Penn State and Clemson also are in, but Ohio State, Georgia and a few other teams are in the playoff picture. We have the Crimson Tide and Horned Frogs in the Sugar Bowl, and the Nittany Lions and Tigers in the Rose Bowl Game....
