Somehow, the Giants rank a respectable 18th in pass offense, averaging 251....

As always, even perennial stars can bust in favorable matchups, but it’s tough to call superstars “busts” unless they’re less than 100 percent, they’ve really been trending downward, or they have a particularly brutal matchup. We mostly stick to naming guys on the start-or-sit bubble, not guys who are simply going to have a good-but-not-great week or guys who are on over 90 percent of waiver wires. Sometimes you don’t have the depth to reasonably bench these players (or you might just totally disagree with our assessments), but you’ll at least know who is at risk this week....

That’s why our lineup starts with a Rams stack around quarterback John Wolford and receiver Robert Woods. With Jared Goff (thumb) out, Los Angeles is in a must-win game against a Cardinals defense that can be beaten. I typically take a cash game approach to finding value plays, and many times, you don’t need to overthink rostering value plays in tournaments as long as you look to diversify your lineup in other areas. Be sure to check out the RotoQL Trending Players Tool to quickly identify who the top value plays are each week. Before we get into the Week 3 picks, remember that an article like this should only be part of your DFS research....

If Amendola is active, he’d take some targets from Julian Edelman. Kenbrell Thompkins, WR, Patriots (shoulder) and Aaron Dobson, WR, Patriots (neck). It’s unclear what the Patriots would do if both Thompkins and Dobson were out (especially if Amendola was also out)....

The Dolphins, Vikings, Colts, and Ravens are off this week, which means Adam Thielen, Justin Jefferson, DeVante Parker, and Marquise Brown will be unavailable (and T.Y. Hilton, but that’s really a blessing in disguise, let’s face it). For a four-team bye week, that’s getting off easy, and it doesn’t hurt that two of the defenses on the bye, Baltimore and Indianapolis, have been among the toughest on WRs this season....

Matt Forte, RB, Bears . Forte picked up the slack after QB Jay Cutler (groin) went down, totaling 109 yards and three touchdowns, including a 50-yarder. Expect Forte to be even more heavily involved on offense if Cutler isn’t ready after the Week 8 bye. We have to mention Redskins RB Roy Helu Jr., who also had three TD runs in this game, all coming in the red zone. Sorry, Alfred Morris owners....

MAIN EVENT: Notre Dame at Florida State It’s impossible to mention Notre Dame and Florida State in the same sentence without invoking 1993. That’s the year No. 2 Notre Dame beat No. 1 Florida State in South Bend, only to lose to Boston College the following week. Each team lost one game, but the Seminoles won the national title. Fast forward 21 years, and similar high stakes should be on the line in Tallahassee....

It’s also worth noting that any of our selections could bust this week. We’re taking some chances here, as we don’t want to say anyone too obvious. A list of easy choices wouldn’t do anyone any good. You aren’t going to start the guys below over consistent, proven producers, but you’re probably not searching for fantasy sleepers if your lineup is set. However, even if that’s the case, our sleepers list can help you find value in DFS contests, as the prices of these players should be affordable....

Nope. Even that creates acrimony and "board bets" within the office. This week, there seems to be contention over two quarterbacks moving in opposite directions. One of our experts (Bill Bender) has faith in both Andy Dalton (his "stud" pick) and Matt Ryan (his "sleeper" pick), but Brad Pinkerton says Dalton's hot streak is going to end in Miami, while Matt Lutovsky says Ryan will continue struggling in Carolina. Something's gotta give … twice....

The byes take away Eagles, Rams, Browns, and Bengals receivers, which certainly limits depth but leaves most of the top tier untouched (apologies to Tyler Boyd, Travis Fulgham, Cooper Kupp, and Robert Woods). Ideally, the newly healthy players (which also potentially includes Allen Lazard and Sammy Watkins) and return of Antonio Brown will help make up for their absences. Eagles QB Nick Foles: Anytime you tie an NFL record, you’re probably making the Studs/Duds list one way or the other. Foles did just that by becoming the seventh player in NFL history to throw seven touchdown passes in a game while he lit up the Raiders for 406 yards. He finished with roughly 60 fantasy points and now has a 13-0 TD-to-INT ratio in six games (three starts). Foles’ huge day overshadowed shootouts between Tom Brady (41 fantasy points) and Ben Roethlisberger (34), and Case Keenum (35) and Andrew Luck (31)....
