A quick glance at our rankings reveals Amari Cooper (vs. Broncos), Larry Fitzgerald (vs. Jaguars), and Marvin Jones (vs. Vikings) among good receivers on the WR3 bubble. With guys like Josh Doctson (vs. Giants), Jordy Nelson (@ Steelers), Sammy Watkins (vs. Saints), Corey Davis (@ Colts), and Deonte Thompson (@ Chiefs) ranked ahead or right around them, you might think we’re crazy – and maybe we are – but matchups have to be factored into the equation. Injuries in the Saints and Steelers secondaries make Nelson and Watkins more appealing (and Robert Woods’ injury could create more targets for Watkins), while Doctson, Davis and Thompson get a decent amount of targets and have great matchups. (Thompson is helped by Kelvin Benjamin’s injury.)
A lot can change between now and Sunday, especially when injuries are factored in, but chances are you’re going to have to make some tough choices at the WR spot this week.
