Beyond McCaffrey, injuries are the RB story of the week. Chris Carson (hip) is done for the season. Josh Jacobs (shoulder) isn’t in our rankings, as he looks shaky at best to play this week. For now, we’ve left in Derrick Henry (hamstring), James Conner (shoulder), and Mark Ingram (calf), although all could be at risk of missing Week 17, too. (Update: We’ve removed Ingram based on new reporting.)

WEEK 17 NON-PPR RANKINGS:Quarterback | Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end | D/ST | Kicker

The best part of Henry’s, Conner’s, and Ingram’s injuries for savvy fantasy owners in Week 17 championship action is the PPR-speciality backs they may free up. If Henry is out, Dion Lewis is a great PPR RB2 play. If Ingram is out, especially with the Ravens locked into seeding, it could be rookie Justice Hill making his mark in the receiving game. And Jaylen Samuels could get one more gimmicky week this season if Conner is out.

Beyond those injuries, you won’t find anything that unusual in the PPR RB rankings. Travis Homer, Seattle’s receiving replacement for Carson, might be higher than you expected against the 49ers, but he caught six-of-eight targets in Week 16 and is nothing if not a PPR FLEX option.

WEEK 17 PPR RANKINGS:Wide receiver | Tight end

The final backfield to keep an eye on in the coming week is Minnesota. Dalvin Cook (shoulder) is probably done until the playoffs, but whether it’s Alexander Mattison (ankle), Mike Boone, or Ameer Abdullah with the most Week 17 PPR value remains to be seen. An injured Mattison is out of the rankings for now, but there will surely be some shifting of these backs as the week goes on.
