There’s obviously no simple answer to that question. This is a heavy bye week for top wide receivers, with Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Tampa Bay and Carolina all off. Three of those teams have stud fantasy running backs, too. This is probably the weakest top-to-bottom FLEX rankings of the season so far, and it could get worse if guys like Saquon Barkley, Davante Adams and Amari Cooper don’t get healthy in time for Sunday.

WEEK 7 NON-PPR RANKINGS:Quarterback | Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end | D/ST | Kicker

So, maybe this week, the FLEX rankings aren’t even that tricky. You have two players on your bench on bye, you’ve subbed in two lesser players for them, and maybe you have only one guy left that you could even consider starting. That’s your FLEX, I guess. But let’s say you have two. Maybe it’s Metcalf and his picture buddy above, another rookie, Miles Sanders. Both seem boom-or-bust and matchup dependent. If you scroll down, you’ll know which one to play (and if I’ve somehow nailed someone’s situation perfectly, I might as well save you a little time – play Metcalf).

If you’re really desperate, the Bills have provided a number of options that might still be available on the waiver wire for you to plug in. They traded Zay Jones to Oakland, and he’s probably looking at a big workload right out of the chute. In addition, Buffalo hosts Miami, which makes Cole Beasley and Duke Williams viable fantasy options. Or maybe one of San Francisco’s wideouts is available ahead of a matchup with the Redskins – any of Dante Pettis, Deebo Samuel (if healthy) and Marquise Goodwin will do in a pinch.
