There aren’t many cases where fantasy owners should want to start an RB or WR over a QB in the superflex spot. Maybe you have a lot of RB depth and only have Ben DiNucci available as a potential starting option. In that case, sure, go for it with another RB. That said, players like DiNucci and Daniel Jones might have bad matchups and may be performing poorly this year, but they have high floors because they’ll have the ball in their hands every play. For that reason, we’re choosing to trust them over the likes of Damien Harris and even DeVante Parker, who has a brutal matchup this week.

WEEK 8 PPR RANKINGS: Quarterback | Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end | D/ST | Kicker

Other options that come in below the 28 QBs we have in the top 90 include Gus Edwards, La’Mical Perine, Darius Slayton, Greg Ward Jr., A.J. Green, and Hunter Henry. Could some of these players outproduce the likes of DiNucci, Jones, and Sam Darnold? It’s certainly possible, but all of these players fall into the low-floor, high-ceiling category. The QBs will always have a high floor, at the very least.

WEEK 8 STANDARD RANKINGS: Quarterback | Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end | D/ST | Kicker

Starting a struggling quarterback might not be fun, but if you time it right, perhaps he’ll be able to break out of his slump. If you want to risk the high floor for a higher ceiling or a better matchup, that’s fine, but trusting QBs is never a bad idea in superflex, no matter how bad they may look on paper.
